Airport expansion concerns lead to successful property buyout

Categories: Client Highlights

H&McK represented a client that ended up at the end of the new runway built at the Minneapolis St. Paul International Airport.  In a dispute that lasted over a decade and included a series of administrative, legislative and litigation matters, the firm successfully arranged for the City of Bloomington and the Metropolitan Airports Commission to purchase the property which allows the client to move its operations to a different location away fromm the runway.  This is believed to be the first time a private property owner was able to compel the MAC to purchase private property diminished in value as a result of the impact of airport operations on the property.
